The Champaign Woodworkers Club provides a place for local hobbyists to come together and pursue their interests in woodworking and related crafts. Learning from each other is a significant part of that experience. We realize that not everyone needs or can justify the cost of being a full member of the Club, but we also realize that others in the community might enjoy and benefit from an opportunity to interact with other woodworkers. The CWC has therefore created the CWC Affiliate Membership category to serve the need for a more traditional woodworking club. Affiliate Members do not have access to the tools and facilities at the Club’s workshop, but they are invited to attend our monthly membership meetings, which include presentations on various woodworking topics, and to attend Club sponsored social activities. Affiliate Members are not issued keys to the building, but they are welcome to come to the workshop whenever regular members are present to visit and consult with other members, to use the Club’s library, or to view our collection of woodworking videos. We also periodically organize woodworking classes for our members, and those classes which are demonstrational and thus do not require using the Club’s tools and machinery, will also be open to Affiliate Members. When the classes involve outside paid instructors, their fees and expenses are paid by the members attending the class and not by the Club. Therefore, having more members will allow us to have more varied and affordable classes.

If you would like to increase your involvement with other woodworkers in the community but are not interested in a full membership with workshop privileges, please consider joining us as an Affiliate Member. The annual fee for Affiliate Membership is only $15 for 2022. If you are interested, please complete an Affiliate Membership Application and mail it to CWC Affiliate Program, 1302 Parkland Court, Champaign, IL 61821, along with your check for $15 made out to the Champaign Woodworkers Club. When the application has been accepted, you will be notified by email.
